Optimize Tree Mastery And Earn Coins Using Orchards

If your primary concern is mastery, make sure your trees with the longest harvest cycles are inside of orchards. In 30 days you can harvest a lime tree 6 times for 6 mastery points.
But if it is in an orchard you can harvest it 15 times for 15 mastery points.
This is because orchards harvest every 48 hours no matter what kind of tree is inside them. Thus, since the long-harvest period trees like Passion Fruit are going to be hardest to master, it makes sense to put them in orchards.

These are the 5 day trees:

  • Angel Red Pomegranate
  • Bubblegum
  • Key Lime
  • Lime
  • Mint Candy
  • Passion Fruit
  • Pine
  • Pink Bubblegum
  • Pomegranate
  • Silver Maple
  • White Pine
  • Yellow Passion Fruit

These are the 4 day trees:
  • Apricot
  • Blood Orange
  • Chanee Durian
  • Durian
  • Elberta Peach
  • Golden Apricot
  • Golden Starfruit
  • Mandarin
  • Mango
  • Manilla Mango
  • Mission Olive
  • Olive
  • Orange
  • Peach
  • Persimmon
  • Starfruit

And the 3 day trees:
  • Alma Fig
  • Almond
  • Amherstia
  • Apple
  • Arjuna
  • Autumn Ginkgo
  • Avocado
  • Bahri Date
  • Banana
  • Breadfruit
  • Breadnut
  • Carnival
  • Cashew
  • Coconut
  • Cuban Banana
  • Date
  • Dwarf Almond
  • Fig
  • Ginkgo
  • Golden Malayan Coconut
  • Golden Plum
  • Granny Smith Apple
  • Grapefruit
  • Guava
  • Gulmohar
  • Hass Avocado
  • Holiday
  • Ice Crystal
  • Indian Laurel
  • Jackfruit
  • Lemon
  • Longan
  • Lychee
  • Mountain Ebony
  • Plum
  • Ponderosa Lemon
  • Rainbow Apple
  • Ruby Guava
  • Singapore Jackfruit
  • Star Ruby Grapefruit
  • Tamarind
  • Walnut
  • Wax Apple
  • White Cedar
  • White Walnut
  • Wild Cashew
  • Winter Spruce

For two-day trees, there's no difference in the mastery rate.

How to Optimize Profit Using Orchards

Now the effect on profit (coins for harvests) is similar, but not as straightforward. If you have a limited number of orchards and an eye toward profit and you are wondering what trees you should put in orchards first, I recommend you start with Mangos. Here's why:

Over 60 days, a mango harvests 15 times for 1950 coins. In an orchard over the same timeframe it harvests 30 times for 3900 coins. So in an orchard it will earn you 1950 coins more in 60 days than it would outside of an orchard. That is the added value gained for the orchard.

Now a lot of people would argue that it would be better to put say, Jackfruit trees in an orchard before Mangos, because Jackfruit harvest for more... that's definitely true. Over the same period a Jackfruit harvests 20 times for 2800 coins, and in an orchard 30 times for 4200.

Clearly 4200 > 3900, so the orchard with Jackfruit is generating more coin than the orchard with Mango. BUT, the difference between the Jackfruit outside of the orchard and the Jackfruit inside of the orchard over 60 days is 1,400 coins. Thus the added value for the Jackfruit orchard, is only 1400 coins compared to the Mango orchard at 1950.

Perhaps that seems confusing. Since the gross numbers are easier to understand, I think this example will make it clear. Imagine on your farm you have only one Jackfruit, and one Mango, and you have an orchard with only room for one more tree. If you put the jackfruit in, then over the next 60 days, the Jackfruit earns you 4200 coins, and the mango earns you 1950. Your total take for the two of them is 6150 coins. But if you put the mango in, then over the next 60 days, the Jackfruit earns you 2800 coins, and the mango earns you 3900. Your total take is 6700 coins. See? Even though the mango earns less, the added value is higher.

"60-day Added Value" Level 1 Trees in Orchards, Best to Worst:

  • Mango: 1950 coins
  • Pomegranate: 1944 coins
  • Olive: 1680 coins
  • Passion Fruit: 1674 coins
  • Arjuna: 1400 coins
  • Coconut: 1400 coins
  • Jackfruit: 1400 coins
  • Lychee: 1400 coins
  • Lime: 1350 coins
  • Ginkgo: 1300 coins
  • Mandarin: 1200 coins
  • Durian: 975 coins
  • Starfruit: 975 coins
  • Apricot: 840 coins
  • Peach: 705 coins
  • Date: 690 coins
  • Orange: 600 coins
  • Rainbow Apple: 600 coins
  • Banana: 560 coins
  • Almond: 550 coins
  • Breadfruit: 550 coins
  • Guava: 550 coins
  • Gulmohar: 550 coins
  • Wax Apple: 550 coins
  • Grapefruit: 500 coins
  • Walnut: 500 coins
  • Cashew: 410 coins
  • Lemon: 410 coins
  • Avocado: 370 coins
  • Tamarind: 350 coins
  • Fig: 330 coins
  • Holiday: 330 coins
  • Plum: 300 coins
  • Apple: 280 coins

Now of course many of the level 2 trees beat those added values, so in most cases it pays to put level 2's into orchards before level 1's. But not always. So if you are trying to maximize profit, just run the numbers (and use 60 days as the time frame since it is evenly divisible by every harvest cycle, 2/3/4/5). Like so:
Silver Maple, 324 every 5 days or Indian Laurel, 420 every 3 days?

Silver Maple outside orchard = 60/5 X 324 = 12 X 324 = 3888 coins
Silver Maple inside orchard = 60/2 X 324 = 30 X 324 = 9720 coins
Added Value for Silver Maple is 9720 - 3888 coins = 5832 coins

Indian Laurel outside orchard = 60/3 X 420 = 20 X 420 = 8400 coins
Indian Laurel inside orchard = 60/2 X 420 = 30 X 420 = 12600 coins
Added Value for Indian Laurel is 12600 - 8400 coins = 4200 coins
Strange as it seems, you're better off putting the Silver Maple into the orchard before the Indian Laurel.

"60-day Added Value" Level 2 Trees in Orchards, Best to Worst:

  • Manilla Mango: 5850 coins
  • Angel Red Pomegranate: 5832 coins
  • Mint Candy: 5832 coins
  • Silver Maple: 5832 coins
  • Mission Olive: 5040 coins
  • Yellow Passion Fruit: 5022 coins
  • Golden Malayan Coconut: 4200 coins
  • Indian Laurel: 4200 coins
  • Longan: 4200 coins
  • Singapore Jackfruit: 4200 coins
  • Key Lime: 4050 coins
  • Autumn Ginkgo: 3900 coins
  • Chanee Durian: 2925 coins
  • Golden Starfruit: 2925 coins
  • Golden Apricot: 2520 coins
  • Elberta Peach: 2115 coins
  • Bahri Date: 2070 coins
  • Blood Orange: 1800 coins
  • Cuban Banana: 1680 coins
  • Breadnut: 1650 coins
  • Dwarf Almond: 1650 coins
  • Mountain Ebony: 1650 coins
  • Ruby Guava: 1650 coins
  • Star Ruby Grapefruit: 1500 coins
  • White Walnut: 1500 coins
  • Ponderosa Lemon: 1230 coins
  • Wild Cashew: 1230 coins
  • Hass Avocado: 1110 coins
  • Amherstia: 1050 coins
  • Alma Fig: 990 coins
  • Golden Plum: 900 coins
  • Granny Smith Apple: 840 coins

Of course the best choice is to simply get all your 3, 4, and 5 day harvest trees into orchards if you can.
