Doghouse Guide

Check out the new Doghouse feature, newly available on your Farm! The dogs in this feature are new and improved—they interact with you differently than the other dogs on your farm, fetch useful items, and best of all, you can give them a unique name!

NOTE ABOUT THIS FEATURE: Doghouse does not have a time limit, so complete this home for your new pet at your own pace! 

Upon opening your farm, you should be greeted with a window prompting you to place your doghouse:

Placing Doghouses on Multiple Farms

-You can only place one Doghouse on each farm, but you can place doghouses on multiple farms! 
-Placing a Doghouse on a different farm means creating a separate Doghouse that does not share storage or progress with your Doghouse on a different farm. The two are unique to each other.
-In order to unlock the ability to place Doghouses on multiple farms, you must first complete one Doghouse and adopt all the dogs inside it (more on this later.)

There Are Multiple Types of Doghouses!

You may have noticed that when you placed this Doghouse, it was referred to as the Sunshine Doghouse. There will be multiple types of doghouses, with a different collection of dogs for each house. There will be at least two different varieties of Doghouse:

-Sunshine Doghouse (available now!)
-Cupcake Doghouse (coming soon!)

Some things to keep in mind: 

• You can only place one of each types of doghouse on your farm (for example, your Home Farm could have one Sunshine and one Cupcake doghouse at the same time, but you could not have two Sunshines and a Cupcake on your Home Farm.) 
• You CAN place a doghouse you already own again on a different Farm (so you could have one Sunshine Doghouse on your Home Farm and one on English Countryside, for example.)

Once you place your Doghouse, you will just see the house frame. You need to complete it! Clicking on it gives you these options:

• Look Inside: Look in your doghouse to see which parts you need and how many you have
• Ask for Parts: Send a request directly to your friends to ask for specific parts you need to complete your doghouse
• Complete Now: Pay Farm Cash to complete your doghouse without asking for parts
• Move: Relocate your doghouse to somewhere else on your farm
• Sell: Option to sell your doghouse

Look Inside – Incomplete Doghouse

Before you complete your doghouse, looking inside will show you the following:

• Items Needed: Gather the following items by sending requests directly to your friends:
  -Chew Toy (get 12 or purchase for 2 FC each)
  -Dog Bed (get 12 or purchase for 1 FC each)
  -Tennis Ball (get 24 or skip for 1 FC each)
• Send Gifts: Option to send any of these Doghouse items to your friends as Free Gifts
• Complete Now: Complete your Doghouse for 58 FC

Completing Your Doghouse and Adopting a Dog

Once you complete your doghouse, you will see a popup window letting you know that you’ve adopted your first dog! Congrats!

Look Inside – Completed Doghouse

After you’ve completed your Doghouse, a look inside shows you:

• Dogs you have and dogs you can unlock
• Option to purchase treats for 1 FC each
• Option to Ask for Treats by posting a request to your feed
• Option to Rename your dog:

Mousing Over Your Dogs

If you mouse over a dog you have unlocked, you will see three things:

• Mastery Stars: See your mastery progress for this dog
• Unleash: Option to remove your dog from the Doghouse and place it anywhere on your farm
• Feature Me: Check this box to display this dog on the external view version of your Doghouse, like so:

Unleashing Your Dog:

This simply means that you are taking your dog out of the Doghouse and placing it anywhere on your farm. 

• Your dog will stay on your farm forever—she won’t run away after being unleashed!
• You can move your dog back into the Doghouse anytime
• Placing dogs in the Doghouse allows you to master the dogs.
• You can also store your dog if he is unleashed on your farm—he will just go into your regular storage building (barn, tool shed, etc.)
• You can also sell dogs individually if you have unleashed them from the Doghouse, but selling the Doghouse as a whole unit includes the dogs as well as the house itself.

Collecting Dogs in a Doghouse

Each Doghouse has a different line of dogs that you can unlock. You can unlock new dogs by gathering treats or paying an adoption fee to unlock a new dog. 

Get treats by:

• Posting a request to your feed
• Clicking links on friends’ feeds
• Purchasing for 1 FC each
• Harvesting your Doghouse

Progress toward unlocking new dogs builds, so you can only unlock a new dog once you’ve unlocked the one before it.

Dog treats are specific to the type of Doghouse your dog lives in. For example, the Yellow Lab lives in the Sunshine Doghouse, so he will only want Sunshine Dog Treats.

PLEASE NOTE: Don’t confuse these treats with the other dog treats in your market from the earlier Pets feature!

Fetching Items
Once you have adopted all the dogs in your Doghouse, you can still harvest treats. After you’ve unlocked all the dogs, the treats can be used to have your dogs “fetch” items that will go in your gift box!

Dogs in Each Doghouse

Here are the different dog breeds in each house, as well as the number of treats required to unlock each one. Remember that to unlock a dog, you need to unlock all the dogs before it in the Doghouse:

Sunshine Doghouse

• Toy Poodle – Complete Doghouse
• Poodle – 20 Treats or 20 FC
• Yellow Lab – 40 Treats or 40 FC
• Labradoodle – 70 Treats or 70 FC
• Black Lab – 120 Treats or 120 FC

Just want the dogs but not the Doghouse? You will need to build the Doghouse, purchase or redeem treats for the dogs inside, then unleash the dogs from the Doghouse and sell your Doghouse.

Harvesting Your Doghouse

You Doghouse is harvestable for various items once a day. Each time you harvest your Doghouse, you get:

• Coins (100 for every dog you have in your Doghouse)
• Mastery Points (1 for every dog you have in your Doghouse)
• Dog Treats (1 for every dog you have in your Doghouse)

You can Instant Grow your Doghouse to harvest it more quickly, just like your other animal pens.

Selling/Recycling Your Doghouse

Tired of your Doghouse? You can sell it for 100 Coins or you can recycle it. Please note that selling OR recycling your Doghouse gets rid of both your Doghouse AND all the dogs inside it—they do NOT go to your gift box!
